Wandering SL model sent home from India
The 25-year-old girl was finally sent back home on Friday night. Shamla had come to India on a modelling assignment and was to take a flight to her country on Wednesday.
But, instead of boarding the flight, she kept sitting in the departure area of Terminal-3 for two days without eating, sleeping or talking to anybody, airport security sources said.
She was wandering in the departure area. Security officials grew suspicious and started keeping a watch on her.
She tried to jump off railings a couple of times but was prevented just in time, they said.
Sources said, there was apparently an attempt of sexual assault on her due to which she was depressed.
Though the doctors did not confirm any kind of assault on her, the counsellor who spoke to her reportedly said there had been an attempt.
The model, however, gave no complaint regarding the matter either to the police or to security officials at the airport.
A CISF officer said: "We feared she might harm herself. We tried speaking to her but she did not respond. Finally, we took the help of counsellors. She told us that she had missed her flight."
Hemendra Singh, PRO, CISF, said: "The woman had missed her flight to Sri Lanka, which she was supposed to board on December 5. I cannot say what happened to her but she had secluded herself… On Friday night, she was sent back to her country." (Daily Mail)
