“J R Jayawardena was elected as the President at the age of 71 and went on pension at the age of 82.  CB was being the President for two times. Our President has amended the constitution and gets ready to be the President for any number of occasions.  So, he will be elected as President at least for 2 more times” stated by the  District Parliamentarian  for Galle Nishantha Muthuhettigama.

He said this addressing the gathering of “Rata Nagana Nil Rella” at Baddegama.

He further added that the President got 60 lakhs  votes, but there are only 6 lakhs of members in the party.  He started this programme to increase the number of members. There is a new head quarters set up and all the contacts will be available there”.
