Three nabbed for picking magistrate’s pocket
Three persons who allegedly stole the wallet of the Vavuniya Magistrate near the Fort Railway Station have been arrested by police.
The magistrate is said to have arrived in Colombo by train this morning in order to attend a judges’ meeting later today.
The wallet, which was inside a bag, was stolen when the magistrate was getting on a bus after disembarking from the train in Colombo Fort, police spokesman SSP Prishantha Jayakody said.
He stated that the incident had taken place at around 5.30am today (Dec. 03).
The arrested suspects are to be produced at the Fort Magistrate’s Court today.
