No Bikini Round in Miss World 2013

Miss World organisers have confirmed that the contestants this year will not be wearing bikinis to avoid causing offence in host country Indonesia. The 137 beauties from all over the world will be wearing more conservative attire for the bikini round, News.com.au reported
I don't want to upset or get anyone in a situation where we are being disrespectful," Miss World Organisation chairwoman Julia Morley said.
"We treasure respect for all the countries that take part in the pageant," she told ANI, adding that the final outfits had not yet been finalised
Pop icon Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her concert in Indonesia last year after some Muslim organisations threatened to burn down the venue. She came under steep criticism for performing in "bra and panties".
RnB superstar Beyonce and The Pussycat Dolls were also asked to wear appropriate clothes before performing in Indonesia.
The pageant which is to be held on Sep 28th in Bali and Sentul outside Jakarta is already neck deep in controversy with all top religious organisations against it. The nation's top Muslim clerical body, the Indonesian Ulema Council, has already called for its cancellation. Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, another powerful muslin organisation in the country has threatened to stage a protest if the Miss World contest isn't moved somewhere else.
"That contest is just an excuse to show women's body parts that should remain covered and is against Islamic teachings," cleric Mukri Aji, a member of West Java province's Indonesia Council of Ulema (MUI) branch, has said.
Meanwhile, the organisers have also given an official statement that there will be no bikini round this year to respect the sentiments of the people of Indonesia.
"There will be no bikini in this year's Miss World pageant to respect our traditional customs and values," Adjie S Soeratmadjie of the RCTI, the official broadcaster and local organizer for the event asserted.
