Hithowagala Archaeological land they had found bricks and pots under the structures which belonged to the Anuradhapura era.
About 90 years back the Muslims have demolished Buddhist structures which were in dilapidated state and had constructed unauthorised structures. It is learnt that from these bricks they had utilized to construct their own buildings. They had found four ‘cell lippie’ letters that belonged to the second century. It had been revealed that the Muslims had been hiding in those caves.
The officials of the Archaeological department will reveal all the ancient articles found when the excavations are completed
