Woman throws acid at cops arresting husband

A suspect allegedly involved in around 20 crimes including theft and his wife, who threw acid at police officers when they attempted to apprehend her husband, have been arrested this morning.

The incident had occurred at around 7.00am today when police had attempted to arrest the suspect at his residence in Upper Lenagala, Dedigama.

The suspect was taken into custody inside a room of his house while his wife was arrested for throwing acid at police officers.

Three police officers have been admitted to the Kegalle Hospital following the acid attack while it is said that the acid had come into contact with their eyes.
