Three women arrested after raid at brothel

Marawila Police raided a brothel in the Lansigama area and arrested three women including the owner of the illegal racket, operating under the guise of a guest house.

The chief suspect, the brothel owner, is said to be a 48-year-old resident of Madampe while the other two women are a 25-eyar-old youth and a 35-year-old from Lunuwila and Katunayake respectively. 

Police said the woman had been operating the brothel for several years under the pretense of running a guest house.

The suspects are to be produced before the Marawila District Court.
