Indian arrested with gold in rectum
An Indian national was arrested by customs officers at the Bandaranayake International Airport for attempting smuggle several gold nuggets out of the country.
The suspect had attempted to smuggle the gold nuggets, valued at around Rs. 2.7 million, by concealing them in his rectum.
The arrested Indian national was fined Rs. 25,000 while the gold nuggets were taken into custody, said Stanly Senaratne, Deputy Director of Customs.
