Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Prof. Sunil Jayantha Navaratne stated that all
vice chancellors of universities have been advised in this regard.

Meanwhile, a communique issued by the Peradeniya University states that as universities will recommence activities on Monday all students who are boarded in hostels should return to hostels by Sunday.

Academic activities at Universities were halted for a period of three month due to the trade union action by University lecturers.
