BUS STRIKE ON THREE ROUTES
The conductor of the a bus traveling towards Ambalangoda from Colombo was attacked by a certain group in the Aluthgama area, president of the Lanka Private Bus Owner’s Association Gemunu Wijeratne said.
The injured bus conductor is receiving treatment at the Aluthgama Hospital.
Meanwhile buses operating on the Padukka-Horana (No. 282) and Bandaragama-Kalutara (No. 425) routes have also launched strike action.
The strike is being carried out against the issuing of a new route permit from Aluthgama to Avissawella, Wijeratne said.
