The reason for banning the ‘Nikab’ costume ?
The murderer of Mohamed Shiyam of Bambalapitiya was able to be detected as done by his friend with the aid of CCTV cameras. The Muslim extremists have now taken this ‘Nikab’ costume also known as the black logo for their advantage. This dress ‘the goni billa’ costume has become a threat for the whole world. In countries like France and Russia this costume has been banned. Even in Malaysia which is predominantly a Muslim country this dress is banned
In the recent times for the underworld this dress had become very handy Several times they have escaped wearing the dress by slashing sand at Policemen’s eyes. It is learnt that a person could loiter in the streets without much of hassle..Long ago the Muslims wore the saree or the Salwar dress. On the 27th of last month a gang dresses in the ’Nikab’ costume had frightened a woman in Batticaloa and had grabbed her necklace.
Now what needs to be done to safeguard the ordinary citizens is to ban the ‘Nikab’ dress.In the olden days to establish the identity of their community the Muslim ladies covered their heads with the saree .The Elections commissioners order not to come to the polling booths wearing the ‘Nikab’ costume should be hailed and applauded.
