A Sri Lankan, a supplier of prostitutes arrested in Singapore

The embassy sources reveal that a person by the name of ‘Anamaduwe Upul’ who had taken Sri Lankan girls to Singapore on the pretext of promising to give jobs have made them to become prostitutes in Singapore. He has been caught and arrested by the Singapore police.

It is learnt that he had been a strong and established person in this trade in Singapore. This time he had taken five girls and had forced to become prostitutes by force. These girls had escaped from him and had complained to the police. The police had found about ‘Anamaduwe Upul’. He had however gone into hiding.

While he was returning back to Sri Lanka he had been caught.Subsequently five other helpers too had been arrested. ’Anamaduwe Upul’ had been the boss.
