Milk powder found to contain toxins will be banned

The Ministry of Health decided today (14), to ban importing milk food items which contain toxic chemicals.
Health Ministry sources further said the Gazette notification in this regard will be published by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Palitha Mahipala.
Following the rumour to the effect that traces o f the toxic substance, Cyanide, was found in milk powder imported to Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Health believes there should not be any toxic substance in milk powder. "Any brand of mild powder found to have toxins will banned," he said.
