Within one calender month 53 planes have landed carryring 2033 passengers
To Mattala in one month 2033 passengers have landed in 53 planes-.quite a creditable achievement the Minister of Civil Aviation claims.
The Mattala, Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport was opened only on the 18th of March and it had revealed within just one month up to the 19th of April 53 planes have landed safely carrying 2033 passengers while 1301 passengers have taken flights to different destinations during this short period.
The Minister of Civil Aviation Priyankara Jayaratna is quite pleased with these statistics and has claimed that it had gained recognition very soon.
