Six SLT employees arrested for attempting to steal underground cable
The Wadduwa Police will produce before the Kalutara Magistrate today six employees of Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) who were arrested by while attempting to steal an underground cable, local media reported.
The police made the arrest on information received by an executive officer of SLT while traveling by car along the Wadduwa, Morontuduwa on April 12.
According to government media reports Wadduwa Police OIC Sarath Weerasinghe with crime branch officials are investigating the matter. The Police also took into custody a SLT motor cab which the suspects used to travel in to steal the copper underground cable.
