Arrest warrant issued against “Cobra girl”

The Fort Magistrate’s Court has issued an arrest warrant against Nirosha Wimalaratna, aka “Cobra girl” for not appearing in Court today.
Nirosha Wimalaratne who was a dancer at a night club in Colpetty, was taken into custody on 28 August 2012 for keeping a cobra in her possession.
Colpetty Police charged her for animal cruelty and the Fort Magistrate ordered the police to place the cobra under the care of National Zoological Gardens.
Nirosha fought back filing legal action and was successful in regaining her cobra and had returned to the night club with her cobra companion, on 11 December.
