Turkish Airlines to fly to Sri Lanka from next month
Turkey's flag carrier Turkish Airlines is extending its Istanbul - Male service to Colombo, Sri Lanka from next month.
Currently the Airline flies to Male 5 times a week and the service will be extended to Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) starting from the 1st of February.
As a result of the service extension, operational schedule on Istanbul - Male is being revised, and Turkish Airlines has local traffic rights on Male - Colombo sector, UK-based Routes said.
The airline plans to reduce the operation to 4 weekly flights from March 31, 2013. However, the flights will be operated on an Airbus A340-300 which can carry about 100 more passengers than the currently used A330-200.
