Dogs behind the wheel?

Janith | 8:16 PM | 0 comments

A charity in Auckland, New Zealand is teaching rescued dogs how to drive a car.
The charity wants more rescue dogs to be adopted and thought it would be easier if the public realized how intelligent these animals are.
The training is aimed at showing how smart these dogs awaiting adoption are and how they have all sorts of potential.
At the beginning of the training, the dogs learn simple gestures such as pushing buttons, to control the brakes, gears and steering wheel.
Porter, a 10-month-old Border cross; Monty, an 18-month old Giant Schnauzer; and Ginny, a 1-year-old Beardie Whippet cross, are among the novice drivers.
After the seven week training, the dogs are ready and next Monday (Dec. 10) the abilities of three dogs will be tested on National television, BBC reports.
