Body of O/L student found in well
The body of a student who was scheduled to sit for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination, commencing today, has been discovered in the bottom of a well in Hakmana.
16-year-old Lahiru Kumara had attended school from his sister’s home in Heelakanda, Hakmana and was reported missing since Sunday (09), when his sister had filed a complaint with the police.
However, the Hakmana Police was informed at around 8.30pm last night that the teenager’s body was found inside the well located in the garden of their home.
The body was recovered and sent to the Matara General Hospital, where the postmortem examinations will be conducted today (11), police said.
Hakmana Police is conducting further investigations.
