Sri Lankan firm to build a star class hotel and a conference facility in Veyangoda
Sri Lanka’s Coco Agro Hotels is planning to build a star class hotel and a conference center in n the Naiwala area of Veyangoda, announced the Board of Investment.
US$ 2.6 million facility will consist of luxury accommodation and convention and conference facilities which will help to cater to 700 guests at a time.
The BOI approved project will immediately start construction work.
The project is expected to be completed and operational by 2014.
“Once in operation the project will create many jobs and business opportunities for many others. The project is very eco friendly but, will at the same time provide modern comforts and facilities to the guests”, announced a statement issued by the BOI.
Coco Agro Hotels is a fully Sri Lankan owned Company with its main areas of business are the exports of Coco and Coir.
The Investment Agreement between Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and Coco Agro Hotels was signed on the 9th of this month in Colombo.
Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera, Director General of BOI and Mr. Kapila Nishantha Abeysekera Managing Director Coco Agro Hotels and Faiszer Mustapha, Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion were present on the occasion.
