Illegal imports seized from Magampura harbour
A stock of deep freezers worth Rs. 10 M has been discovered in 2 Lorries during the first raid conducted by Customs officers at the Magampura Harbour in Hambantota.
Meanwhile, during a separate raid conducted at the Colombo Harbour by the customs officers a stock of vehicles worth Rs. 15 M have been seized from a container illegally imported by a businessman stating that the import contains 113 bicycles and 2 excavators.
The aforesaid importer has been arrested on a previous occasion as well with regard to importing illegal vehicles.
