MTV/MBC (SIRASA) journalists under threat
Police launched an immediate investigation yesterday, following a complaint lodged by the Maharaja Television and Maharaja Broadcasting Corporation (MTV/MBC), regarding an imminent attack on their journalists.
"We received information that there is a group plotting to attack our journalists, in either Colombo or Ratmalana.
"Some of them were named, and were mentioned as being under constant surveillance, while others were cited as being under threat of actual physical violence," MTV News Chief, Chevan Daniels, told Ceylon Today.
Slave Island Police were immediately informed, and investigations have already begun, he said.
"We requested the police to handle this matter, what with our history," he said, citing the attacks on MTV in 2009 and 2010.
