BMW 3 Series wins 2012 Compact Luxury Sports Sedan Sales Crown
The new F30 BMW 3 Series Sedan wins the competition in the compact luxury sports sedan in 2012. At the end of the year, the company reported 99,602 units sold, way ahead of Mercedes-Benz and its C-Class which sold to 81,697 customers.
In the third sport we have the Japanese automaker Infiniti which sold 59,844 units of their G models.
Slightly behind was the Audi A4 (55,800 units), followed at far larger distance by the Acura TL (33,572 units). Among the important premium automakers, Lexus IS comes last with 27,708 cars sold. With 24,616 cars sold, seventh place belongs to the Buick Regal, while the sleek Volvo S60 follows behind it with 23,356 units sold.
Cadillac’s ATS model went on sale in the second half of 2012 and 7,000 units were sold, a number we expect to increase significantly this year.
