Because of Shirani’s accounts NDB bank has been penalised
As a result of the Ex Chief justice Shirani Banadranayake opening a number of accounts at the National development bank in order to break up her deposits into small accounts the Central Bank of Sri Lanka had fined the NDB bank a sum of Rs 50,000/-
If the money is distributed into many accounts the NB authorities should have asked to proof as to from which sources she obtained the funds.She should have been questioned on that.
This fine was made as she had deposited the funds in a development bank
