Punishment for worshiping Lord Buddha,lashed 200 times,one year imprisonment.
It is learnt that a Sri Lanka male employee who had been caught for worshipping Lord Buddha had been lashed 200 times and deported to Sri Lanka.
He had gone to Saudi Arabia four years ago as driver. He is Thungasiri Premanath Perera is a resident of Padiyatalawe area in Ampara. According to him he had been worshipping Lord Buddha over the years. Lately he had been accused as an exorcist by the Saudi employee who had complained to the Police.
He had been charged for this offence had lashed 200 times and had been deported to Sri Lanka after one years imprisonment.
