A prisoner’s daily wage of Rs 2/50 to be increased
Prisoner’s daily pay is Rs 2/50
It is learnt that the daily wage of a prisoner id to increased as suggested by the Ministry of Prison rehabilitation All prisoners sans those sentenced to death would receive an enhancement wage which would be around Rs 1200/- which would be handed over to their families to meet expenses added the Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera.
After a period of six months they would be paid according to the profession they are attached to like in the colonial days. It was said that the present rate of Rs 2/50 is barely sufficient for a day.
