Government allows to import high capacity motor bikes
Government permits to import high power motor bikes between 450 CC yo 1001 CC’ss
As proposed by the Minister of Transport Kumara Welgama, it’s been decided to permit the importation of motor bikes having capacities in between 450 CC – 1001 CC. Ministry says that even at the moment there are such bikes on our roads which have been imported illegally or assembled locally. Such bikes could be registered by paying a sum Rs. 25,000/-as penalty.
The motor bikes imported after 01st March can be registered without penalty and the taxes will be decided by the Ministry of Finance.
