Parents of nine-year-old killed in road tragedy

The parents and their nine- year-old- son were seriously injured in a head-on collision between their motorcycle and a lorry at Pugoda on the Palleweala- Bokalagama road. They were rushed to the WatupitiwalaHospital but the parents died on admission while the child was transferred to the national Hospitalin a critical condition.  

The victims were identified as Vincent Mallawarachchia businessman of Nalapaha in Divulapitiya and his wife SwarnakanthiSirimanna.  

The lorry was taken into custody and the driver arrested by MirigamaTraffic Police OICSub InspectorMaheepalaGunawardene.
