Red light on liquidized milk
President of the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) Dr. Gishantha Dasanayake said that they have received information about a racket which sells the prohibited milk powder and unsold milk powder as liquid milk in a new packing.
He pointed out that due to the heavy demand for liquidized milk in the market, some producers have been compelled to take this route to meet the demand.
Dr. Dasanayake says that as the liquidized milk is not subjected to any laboratory test, these producers are engaged in this racket without any fear.
