New system for number plates-The name of owner could be included,but at a cost of Rs 10 lakhs
It is reported that from the month of July, a new system of number plates are to be introduced by the department of motor traffic where the owner could get his name inserted on to the number plate of the vehicle owner. The staff of department of motor traffic is making arrangements for this new system.
According to reports that have reached for a person who wishes to have his number plate with his name, that person will have to pay a sum of Rs 10 lakhs to the department of motor traffic.
It is reported that three initials (letters) with four digits could be entered along with four numbers in addition to the registration number of the vehicle. This was revealed by sources of the motor traffic department.
The deputy commissioner of the department of motor traffic had added that the three wheelers begin with the abbreviation AAE, motor cycles with AAB and the motor vehicles with AAC .If anyone wishes to change it as above he will have to pay a sum of Rs 10,000/- and as the numbers go on increasing the amount to be paid also would increase up to a sum Rs 50,000/-
This system is to be introduced from the month of July and it is proposed that about 64 lakhs of vehicles would opt for this option.
