A married woman teaches a police constable a good lesson
A married woman from Wattegama area in Kandy had been visiting constantly the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Police in order to give statements for complaints made. In some instances she had gone to this office to give information about her area to the Police.
As a result she was familiar with the staff she had built up a close rapport with them. A police constable who had become quite familiar to her had made a polite request whether to visit her at home for she had totally declined.
In spite of that the police constable had visited her home at Wattegama and has had conversation with her and then had tried to abuse her sexually. She had tactfully pretended as she was willing and told the police constable ‘first we will have two beer cans” for which the constable had agreed and become very happy.
The police constable had gone and purchased two cans of beer from liquor in the vicinity. While the police constable was inside her house she had shrewdly closed and locked the front door and proceeded to the Wattegama police station to make a complaint.
