Shop owner surrenders after assaulting CAA officers
The chief suspect in the assault of two officer of the Anuradhapura Consumer Affairs Authority during a routine inspection of a shop, has handed himself over to police.
The suspect in question surrendered to police through an attorney this morning, police said. He is scheduled to be produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate.
On January 16 two CAA officers were attacked and injured when they had attempted to inspect a shop located on Sri Maha Bodhi Road, reportedly by the owner of the shop.
